Silang, Cavite- A long and captivating journey to an uncharted destination full of excitement, discovery, and new experiences. The Philippine National Police Academy under the leadership of PMGEN SAMUEL C NACION rendered Testimonial Parade and Review to PLTGEN RHODEL O SERMONIA, the Deputy Director for Administration of the Philippine National Police. The event was held at BGen Cicero Campos Grandstand, Camp General Mariano N Castañeda, Silang, Cavite on January 22, 2024.

PLTGEN RHODEL O SERMONIA is a proud member of Philippine Military Academy “Makatao” Class of 1989. A man who lives a life that follows the tradition of excellence. In his more than 37 years in public service, he was awarded three times prestigious awards for government service by the President of the Republic of the Philippines. He was adjudged the BEST JUNIOR OFFICER OF THE YEAR in 2002—the second time since he won the same category in 1996. He is also a recipient of the Metrobank Foundation’s COPS or Country’s Outstanding Policemen, and now outstanding Filipinos in the Service Award; the most coveted award for PMA graduates, the 2004 PMA CAVALIER AWARDS in 2004 and the Metrobank’s Awards for Continuing Excellence in Service or ACES an Award given every five years chosen from among the list of Country’s Outstanding Policemen, and twice awarded as HAP Awardee of the CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, PRESIDENTIAL LINGKOD BAYAN Awards for the year 2016 and 2020.

Moreover, he was a finalist for the Civil Service Commissions Dangal ng Bayan Award and the Presidential Lingkod ng Bayan Award in Year 2004 and 2005 respectively. He is also a recipient of numerous military and police medals, making him a bemedaled officer. Likewise, twice MERITORIOUSLY PROMOTED to the next higher rank for risking his life and limbs during police operations against criminality and insurgency. First, in 1997 when he was promoted to the rank of Chief Inspector and secondly, in 2002 when he was promoted to the rank of Police Superintendent.

In the message delivered by PLTGEN SERMONIA, he expressed his sincerest gratitude to the PNPA, his family and friends, colleagues, and the Cadet Corps. He emphasized the importance of embracing the life journey, service, and career. “Being a cadet is a lifetime opportunity; make the best of it and make your parents proud,” he said. Additionally, he urged the cadets to embrace every moment in the PNPA, including the challenges they conquer and the accomplishments they achieve. He emphasized the significance of his program, the Transparency and Integrity Program, and stressed the importance of accountability in achieving public trust.

The PNPA takes immense pride in honoring the exemplary career and unwavering commitment of this fine gentlemen of Nueva Vizcaya, an individual whose dedication and achievements continue to inspire generations of law enforcers.
