Honors and Institutional Awards to Graduating Cadets

PNPA | Top 10 of ALAB KALIS Class of 2022

Subject to applicable considerations and other factors to be determined by the Academy, the following are the awards to be given to graduating cadets:

HonorsThe following are the Latin Honors:

  1. Summa Cum Laude – This honor is awarded to any Cadet who obtained a weighted average grade of 95.00% to 100% with no grade in any one subject below 93.00%.
  2. Magna Cum Laude – This honor is awarded to any Cadet who obtained a weighted average grade of 90.00% to 100% with no grade in any one subject below 88.00%.
  3. Cum Laude – This honor is awarded to any Cadet who obtained a weighted average grade of 85.00% to 100% with no grade in any one subject below 83.00%.

Institutional Awards

  1. Presidential Kampilan – Awarded by the President of the Republic of the Philippines to the graduating Cadet who ranked Number One in the Final Order of Merit.
  2. Vice Presidential Kampilan – Awarded by the Vice President of the Philippines to the graduating Cadet who ranked Number Two in the Final Order of Merit.
  3. Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Kampilan – Awarded by the Secretary, DILG to the graduating Cadet who ranked Number Three in the Final Order of Merit.
  4. VCEO NAPOLCOM Kampilan – Awarded by the Vice Chairman and Executive Officer, NAPOLCOM to the Class President of the graduating class subject to the recommendation of the Commandant of Cadets.
  5. Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP) Kampilan – Awarded by the Chief, PNP to the graduating Cadet who ranked highest among those Cadets joining the Police Service in the Final Order of Merit.
  6. Chief, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Kampilan – Awarded by the Chief, BFP to the graduating Cadet who ranked Number One among those Cadets joining the Fire Service in the Final Order Merit.
  7. Chief, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Kampilan – Awarded by the Chief, BJMP to the graduating Cadet who ranked Number One among those Cadets joining the Jail Service in the Final Order of Merit.
  8. Leadership Kampilan – Awarded by the Director, PNPA to the Cadet First Captain upon the recommendation of the Commandant of Cadets.
  9. Athletic Kampilan – Awarded by the Chief Executive, Local Government Unit to the graduating Cadet who ranked Number One in the final rating of the Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
  10.  Journalism Kampilan – Awarded by the Press Secretary to the graduating Cadet as Editor-in-Chief of Kalasag, the official publication of the Cadet Corps who has shown distinct journalism quality skills upon the recommendation of the Chief, Public Information Office.
  11. Plaque of Merit – Awarded by the Chief, PNP to each of the Top 10 Cadets in the Final Order of Merit.

Award Procedures

Cadet who was once declared as turn-back due to academic delinquency shall be disqualified from being awarded of Latin Honors and institutional awards under Section 20.2.1 to Section 20.2.7, and Section 20.2.11. In such case, applicable adjustment shall be made in the list of graduating cadets and/or Order of Merit for the purpose of conferring the appropriate awards and/or in consideration of cadet cases which are considered pending. The Academic Board may recommend appropriate adjustments as may be warranted by the applicable provision of this section subject to the approval of the PNPA Director.
