Ensuring effective youth participation in governance, the National Youth Commission 2023 invites young leaders from over 1,000 provincial chapters and SK Federation presidents, along with chosen individuals from different service academies and ROTC Corps Commanders representing universities all over the country to contribute to the dialogue, during the three-day gathering held at Philippine Military Academy, Camp Gregorio H del Pilar, Baguio City.

A first-ever participation for PNPA, thirty (30) cadet delegates were sent to join the forum. For three days, the cadets enriched their communication and relation skills from the many interactions with civilian leaders and fellow cadets as well. Additionally, the cadets were able to pitch in their ideas and opinions on issues concerning Filipino youth in between talks and discussions.

Fostering team spirit and camaraderie—such qualities necessary for nation-building and establishing connections, the host Academy allowed the participants to utilize their facilities for the obstacle course and basic marksmanship. Moreover, the visitors were able to tour around the area—and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Academy and its landmarks.

“The convention went beyond my expectations. Not only is it a fun visit, but very educational as well. I am grateful to PNPA for this one-of-a-kind opportunity,” expressed CDT 2C Daniel Ronquillo III, one of the delegates from PNPA.

Furthermore, he has hopes that this would not be the last of the Academy to join in more youth-related meetings as he sees it as a great experience as soon future law enforcers.

“I see the long-term benefits of having these types of dialogues and gatherings for the years to come. Hopefully, this would be a kickstart for PNPA and not the end,” CDT 2C Ronquillo added, full of optimism.
