Silang, Cavite – On October 20, 2023, the Philippine National Police Academy, under the leadership of Acting Director PNPA, PBGEN SAMUEL C NACION, held a Testimonial Parade and Review in honor of JDIR RUEL S RIVERA, the 10th Chief of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). The event took place at BGen Cicero Campos Grandstand, Camp General Mariano N Castaneda, Silang, Cavite, and was attended by his family, friends, colleagues, and personnel of BJMP.
JDIR RUEL S RIVERA, an esteemed member of the PNPA “Patnubay” Class of 1995, hails from humble beginnings as the son of a barangay captain and a market vendor. Prior to his noble calling in public service, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently, he pursued higher education, achieving a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Batangas State University in 1999.
As the Chief of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, he exemplified the values of a dedicated public servant. He is known for placing honor above personal gain and valuing the respect of the people over prestige. His outstanding record includes numerous service awards and accolades from various agencies, both local and international. In his various operational and administrative roles, he has consistently earned the admiration and respect of his subordinates.
Recognizing his unwavering dedication and commitment to public service, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. appointed JDIR RUEL S RIVERA as the 10th Chief of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on June 25, 2023. Under his visionary leadership, he has championed the causes of both jail officers and the communities they serve. He is a consummate officer who continues to serve his nation with the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
JDIR RUEL S RIVERA’s journey from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of leadership within the BJMP is an inspiring testament to the ideals of public service and the transformative power of dedication and integrity. His legacy serves as an example for all aspiring public servants, showing that true leadership is defined by one’s commitment to the welfare of others.
