Silang, Cavite—PBGEN Raul D. Bargamento, the outgoing Director of the HIGHWAY PATROL GROUP (HPG), retired today, June 24, 2023, after serving for over three decades in the Philippine National Police (PNP). The retirement honors for PBGEN Bargamento were held at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Campos Grandstand in Camp Gen Mariano N. Castañeda and was presided over by the Chief of the PNP, PGEN BENJAMIN ACORDA JR.

The event which included the retirement of his Badge of Honor, Lowering of his Star Flag and a Testimonial Lunch was attended by the honoree’s classmates, friends, and family, who witnessed the expression of gratitude and recognition for his remarkable service to the country.

In his message, PGEN Acorda praised PBGEN Bargamento’s accomplishments and lauded him for his unwavering commitment to public safety and exemplary leadership that has helped transform the HPG. “His exceptional dedication to his duties and responsibilities has been invaluable to the Philippine National Police. He has given his full commitment to the service and has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues,” he added.

PBGEN Bargamento is a member of the PNPA’s “TAGAPAGKALINGA” Class of 1991. During his tenure as HPG Director, he oversaw the implementation of several key initiatives that have improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.

In his valedictory speech, PBGEN Bargamento underscored the importance of core values such as fairness, justice, and the essence of public service. He also expressed gratitude to his family for their unwavering support and understanding throughout his 34 years of service to the Filipino people.

PBGEN Bargamento’s contribution to the PNP is immense. He is a true public servant who has dedicated his life to serving the Filipino people. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of law enforcement professionals.
