Silang, Cavite—Commodore Eustacio Nimrod Palomero Enriquez Jr, Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard Education, Training, and Doctrine Command, and his staff paid a visit to the Philippine National Police Academy on Monday, December 5, 2022. The Cadets accorded Commodore Enriquez Arrival Honors before he attended the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Speaking before the Corps of Cadets, the Distinguished Visitor took his opportunity to advise the future officers to “be like an owl which characterizes value quality and live by the motto: If you’re going to do something, do it right the first time. They are logical, systematic, and conscientious. Naturally deep thinkers, Owls are great at complex projects where organization is key to success.”

This was followed by the signing of a Partnership Agreement between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine National Police Academy to conduct cooperative education and training programs as well as other activities aimed at improving education and training, developing leadership and managerial skills, strengthening friendship and understanding, and promoting greater cultural awareness among PNPA cadets, Candidate Coast Guard Officers, faculty members, instructors, and training staff of both parties.

The partnership also included the undertaking on visit and immersion program to PNPA and CGETDC Training Facilities which will be designed to immerse the participants to the training environment and culture of the host institution.

The collaboration also included a visit and immersion program to PNPA and CGETDC Training Facilities, which will be designed to immerse participants in the training environment and culture of the host institution, via: sports and physical development activities that instill values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, camaraderie, and friendly competition; joint exercises, such as disaster and emergency response, are used to foster teamwork and interoperability; exchange Instructors Program, Lectures Program, and SMEs Program are all designed to maximize knowledge transfer to target recipients; trainings, seminars, and workshops to improve the knowledge and skills of both parties’ faculty members and SMEs; and other education and training-related activities aimed at achieving the goals of the partnership agreement.

During the signing, Commodore “Ike” as he is fondly called says “we recognize the value of this partnership with the country’s premier police higher education institution that primarily produces the younger breed of officers in the tri-bureaus, as this is consistent with our pursuit of improving our interoperability with other law enforcement agencies.” The Director, PNPA, PBGEN Eric E Noble, in response, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Philippine Coast Guard, saying, “We especially look forward to that invaluable exchange of knowledge and information from subject matter experts and such other groundbreaking possibilities that would benefit our cadets the most.”

Commodore Enriquez was also given the opportunity to award the cadets of the Corps Publications who recently bagged two awards in the prestigious Catholic Mass Media Awards in its 44th year. (PNPA-PIO)
