Silang, Cavite—The Honorable Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez, Speaker, House of Representatives sets his feet anew to the hallowed ground of the premier police higher education institution, and as always, bringing with him the colossal pledge that could finally set record-breaking feats for PNPA.

Speaker Romualdez was born on November 14, 1963, the third child of Benjamin Romualdez and Juliette Gomez-Romualdez. His father, Benjamin, served as Governor of Leyte and Ambassador to the United States.

He attended Cornell University in the United States from 1981 to 1985, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government. In 1988, he earned a Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from Harvard University. He later enrolled at the University of the Philippine College of Law in 1988, where he became a brother of the Upsilon Sigma Phi fraternity. He earned his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1992. He was admitted to the bar in 1993.

Among his accomplishments in the legislature is his authorship of the House Bill No. 1039, which was enacted into law by President Benigno Aquino III as Republic Act No. 10754 or an act on expanding the benefits and privileges of people with disabilities. Speaker Romualdez is also one of the Champions of the “common tao” during the blows dealt by the COVID-19 Pandemic and fought diligently for the passage of the Bayanihan Heal As One Act.

Speaker Romualdez is married to Honorable Yedda Marie M. Kittilstvedt, a former beauty pageant contestant who competed in Miss International 1996 and won and later becoming a representative of the people herself. She is known as a staunch advocate of women’s and children’s rights issues. They have four children together.

The very presence of our Speaker Romualdez is very significant as it signals the full blast of infrastructural projects aim to further improve the Philippine National Police Academy consider as the last bastion of hope for our beloved organization and penultimately, this nation.

“I will make sure that all these priority infrastructure projects will secure funding and put into fruition by including them in next year’s General Approprations Act (GAA),” thus declares the good Speaker.

Speaker Romualdez, the 4th highest government official and the speaker of the 19th Congress, s also a proud member of PNPA TAGAPAGBUKLOD Class of 1989.
