Cavite, Silang— The PNPA MOOT AND DEBATE SOCIETY soars high at the prestigious 2022 National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law, notching the championship plum at the IHL Role Play Challenge at the Manila Adventist College on October 10-14, 2022, after months of rigorous training and preparation.

As the only non-law school participant in the annual competition, PNPA defeated ten (10) other renowned and top law colleges across the country, including the University of the Philippines-Diliman, the University of San Agustin, Bukidnon State University, the University of the Cordilleras, the University of Batangas, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Jose Maria College, the Ateneo de Davao University, and the Southwestern University-PHINMA,

Ten (10) cadets make up the PNPA MOOT TEAM: Cdt 1C Mary Grace Montenegro, Cdt 1C Medela Divina, and Cdt 1C Saleh Ismael Lingas lead this year’s team, which includes the best minds of the Academy as mentors, as well as Cdt 1C Mary Louise Moyano. And proudly introduces the first all-female counsels team, Cdt 2C Cleojean Pia (First Counsel), Cdt 2C Jonjea Kamille Amparo (Second Counsel), and Cdt 2C Art Lorenz Francisco (Alternate Counsel). Cdt 3C John Gerbese, Cdt 3C John Ortiz, and Cdt 3C Kristine Flores are also researchers.

The team passionately represented their stance as they advanced to the quarter final rounds on the given case for the prosecution and defense in front of highly acclaimed judges from various perspectives- legal, military, and civilian.

Despite the heat of legal and persuasive argumentation, the PNPA Moot Court Team demonstrated grace and stability under pressure as they demonstrated their mettle and prowess in the field of International Humanitarian Law. They have graciously demonstrated their drive to be more than just future law enforcement officers for the country, but also great advocates of justice through the art of oral argumentation.
