Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City- The Philippine National Police Academy participates in the Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Challenge 2024. A level 3 PSMOC Classifier Match with 12 stages sanctioned by the Philippine Shooters and Match Officers Confederation, from January 24 to 28, 2024 at the Philippine Military Academy, Firing Range in Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City. The fifteen Cadets will compete in the said event led by PMAJ ROBIN JAMES R BATE, Range PCO.
The Opening Ceremony and Ceremonial Shoot was graced by GEN. ROMEO S BRAWNER JR, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Hon. SUHARTO MANGUDADATU, Governor of Sultan Kudarat. This event is open to all gun aficionados of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned marksmen, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes responsible firearm owners. The event aims to benefit the wounded and sick soldiers of the AFP Health Service Command, support scholarships for military orphans, improve the PMA Firing Range, and bring together enthusiasts and professionals alike for a day of camaraderie, skill-building, and friendly competition.
In a friendly exhibition match, PNPA cadets emerged victorious against PMA cadets on the second day of the Chief of Staff Challenge (Team versus Team). Additionally, CDT 1C Daniel Aumentado won a one (1) unit Benelli Vinci Camo Wood shotgun during the raffle draw, while CDT 3C Mariano Angelo Castillo won the grand prize—a 300k Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC).
