Silang, Cavite—The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is pleased to announce that 1,031 individuals have successfully passed the Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) for the year 2023. The test was conducted on August 6, 2023, in 37 test centers across the country.

The PNPA has received a total of 107,345 online applications from January 1 to July 15, 2023. Out of these, 37,020 applicants were deemed qualified, marking a 16.28% increase compared to the previous year. The number of actual examinees also saw a significant increase of 17.48%, with a total of 25,418 individuals taking the test.

The passing rate for this year’s PNPACAT is 4.06% (slightly lower than last year but well within the 5 year average), showcasing the rigorous and competitive nature of the examination. Of the successful examinees, 73.33% are male, while 26.67% are female.

The educational qualifications of the passers are as follows: 2.04% are college graduates, 58.97% are college undergraduates, 29.87% are Senior High School (SHS) graduates, and 9.12% are currently in Grade 12.

The average age of the passers is 19, with the majority falling into the age brackets of 19 and 20. The youngest successful examinee is 17 years old, while the oldest is 22.

The top test centers with the most passers are as follows:

1. Baguio City (015 Baguio City National High School) with 94 passers

2. Dasmariñas City (009 Dasmariñas City National High School) – 66 passers

3. Quezon City (018 Batasan Hills National High School ) – 64 passers

4. Tuguegarao City (003 Cagayan National High School) – 63 passers

5. Davao City (025 University of Mindanao-Matina Campus) – 57 passers

The PNPA is also proud to announce the top 5 examinees, who have demonstrated exceptional academic abilities and potential for leadership:

1. Ranked 1st is a 20-year-old female examinee from Cervantes, Ilocos Sur, a BS Applied Physics undergraduate student of the University of the Philippines Manila. She has taken the exam at Ilocos Sur National High School in Vigan City.

2. Ranked 2nd is an 18-year-old male from Valenzuela City, currently a Grade 12 student at Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science. He took the exam at Emilio Aguinaldo College in Manila.

3. Ranked 3rd is a 20-year-old female examinee from San Luis, Aurora, who took the exam at Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology.

4. Ranked 4th is an 18-year-old male from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, currently Grade 12 student at Tuguegarao City Science High School .

5. Ranked 5th is a 20-year-old male from Malolos City, an undergraduate student in Computer Engineering at Bulacan State University .

PNPA Acting Director, PBGEN Samuel C Nacion, expressed his congratulations to the successful examinees and emphasized the importance of monitoring the PNPA’s official page for updates on the next phases of the Selection and Admission Process for PNPA Class 2028 that will commence in the 1st Quarter of 2024.
