Date: June 15, 2023
Silang, CaviteโThe Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) on June 15, 2023 dismissed one 2nd Class Cadet for maltreating his fellow cadet and another 3rd Class Cadet for violating the Honor Code following a grave display of dishonor and disobedience.
The cadet in question was dismissed after allegations surfaced that he maltreated his fellow cadet. The victim reported the maltreatment to their superiors, which led to an investigation and eventual dismissal of the accused cadet. The PNPA administration, being rigorous on discipline and good conduct, had strict protocols and procedures that were followed to ensure a fair hearing for both parties.
In a separate incident, a 3rd Class Cadet was dismissed after being caught violating the Honor Code. This particular cadet was found guilty of lying after giving false statement, which is a clear violation of the Honor Code that all cadets are expected to uphold. The incident was promptly reported and investigated, leading to the dismissal of the cadet.
It can be recalled that on June 1, 2023, PGEN BENJAMIN ACORDA JR, Chief, Philippine National Police, reminded the upperclass Corps during the Acceptance Day of Class 2027 to remember that their actions and conduct are a reflection not only of themselves but also of the institution they represent. He emphasized the importance of leading with integrity, professionalism, inspiring excellence, and making a positive impact on those around them.
Director PNPA, PMGen Eric E. Noble, in his statement, expressed his disappointment with the actions of these two cadets. He emphasized that the PNPA holds their cadets to the highest standards of conduct and expects them to uphold the institution’s values of Honor, Excellence, and Discipline.
“The behavior exhibited by these cadets is not just a breach of the Academy’s rules and regulations but also a failure to live up to the expectations of their oath as a cadet,” says PMGEN Eric E Noble.
The PNPA is known for its strict discipline and nondiscriminatory enforcement of the law. Dismissing cadets who fail to meet the institution’s high standards is the only way to ensure that the academy continues to produce the best and most honorable police officers.
MGen Noble further stated that the PNPA would continue to uphold its values and standards despite any challenges that may arise. The academy is committed to producing competent law enforcers who are stewards of the law.
