Silang, Cavite—Today, June 12, 2023, a significant event took place at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) as the Director, PMGen Eric E. Noble led the installation of the photo frame of PCOL Elmar Sillador on the Valor’s Wall inside the Heroes’ Hall.
The installation ceremony was a solemn occasion that paid tribute to PCOL Sillador’s courage and bravery. He served as an inspiration to all members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) with his admirable dedication to duty and unwavering commitment to the safety and security of the Filipino people.
On February 17, 1991, while serving as Officer-in-Charge of the 426th Mobile Company of the Philippine National Police, he exhibited remarkable courage and bravery during a harrowing encounter with over 500 heavily armed NPA/CTs in Tagmalinao, La Purisima, Cawait, Surigao del Sur. His outstanding performance, above and beyond the call of duty, during this encounter was recognized by President Corazon C. Aquino who conferred him with the prestigious Medal of Valor Award on January 31, 1992. This recognition was a testament to the exemplary performance of the Officer and his men, worthy of emulation by future leaders of this nation.
PCOL Sillador was joined in by family, close friends, and fellow PNP members at the ceremony to witness the placement of his photo frame on the Valor’s Wall. As his photo frame was unveiled, his bravery and unwavering commitment to duty is immortalized.
