Silang, Cavite—On June 12, 2023, the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) celebrated the 125th Philippine Independence Day through a flag raising ceremony. The ceremony was led by the Director, PMGen Eric E. Noble and attended by officials, personnel, and cadets of the institution.
The celebration of the Philippine Independence Day holds great importance as it serves as a reminder of the struggle and sacrifices made by our ancestors to achieve freedom from colonial rule. It is a day to honor our national heroes and their bravery, and to celebrate our rich culture and history.
The flag raising ceremony also symbolizes our respect and devotion towards our country, and our commitment to uphold the ideals of democracy and sovereignty. The event fosters a sense of patriotism among the participants and reinforces the importance of national unity and solidarity.
The activity also included the releasing of white doves, a longstanding tradition which signifies peace, unity, and freedom, all of which are values that are fundamental to the essence of our independence. As the doves take flight, they represent the aspirations of the PNPA community for a country without any conflict or oppression.
This year’s celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence Day with the theme “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.” in PNPA serves as a call to action for all freedom loving Filipinos to continue working towards nation-building and to uphold the values and principles that our forefathers fought for.
