PNPA: World-class center of excellence in public safety and social defense education and training.

The PNP issues a Cybersecurity Advisory in preparation for the upcoming SONA, highlighting three critical focus areas to ensure the protection of government digital infrastructure and public safety:

1) Protection of Critical Information Infrastructure (CII)
All CII owners are directed to maintain 24/7 monitoring of mission-critical systems, apply pending security patches, enforce Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), validate backups, and activate DDoS defense mechanism to prevent service disruption during SONA operations

2) Counter-Misinformation and Influence Operations
Personnel are reminded to verify all SONA-related information through official government channels. Units must monitor for fake advisories, impersonation accounts, edited images, and fabricated narratives, and immediately report suspicious content for validation and takedown coordination.

3) Prevention of Online Scams and Social Engineering Attempts
The public and PNP personnel are advised to stay vigilant against phishing emails, fraudulent links, fake livestreams, VIP pass scams, and other SONA-themed social engineering attempts.

This reinforces the Nation’s commitment in safeguarding digital systems, combating misinformation, and protecting the public from online threats during SONA 2026.
