Las Piñas City—On June 17, 2023, 50 cadets belonging to Philippine National Police Academy LAYAG DIWA class of 2024 visited the Sipag Villar Farm in Las Piñas as part of their ongoing Civil Military Operations Seminar. The visit provided the cadets with a hands-on experience of farming and agriculture and allowed them to interact with experts in the field.

Upon arrival at the farm, the cadets were greeted by Senator Cynthia A. Villar, who welcomed them and shared her thoughts on the importance of farming and self-sufficiency. The senator, who has been a long-time advocate of sustainable agriculture, encouraged the cadets to take an interest in farming and to promote its importance in their communities.

The visit to the Sipag Villar Farm proved to be a valuable experience for the cadets. They were given a comprehensive tour of the farm, where they learned about various farming techniques and the importance of soil management. They also had the opportunity to interact with the experts working on the farm, who shared their experiences and insights on the challenges and opportunities in the field.

During the visit, the cadets also participated in a hands-on experience of planting seedlings and maintaining the crops. This activity allowed them to appreciate the amount of effort and resources required to cultivate crops and gain a better understanding of the challenges that farmers face.

The visit to the Sipag Villar Farm is highly relevant to the ongoing Civil Military Operations training of the LAYAG DIWA class of 2024. With the current issues of national security and peace and order in the country, the seminar aims to equip the cadets with the necessary knowledge and skills to become effective agents of change.

The seminar is designed to provide the cadets with a comprehensive understanding of the role of the military and the police in the development and progress of the country, and to promote community relations. The visit to the Sipag Villar Farm is an important component of the seminar as it showcases the importance of agriculture in national development and the role of the Philippine National Police in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security.
