Sangley Point, CaviteโIn an effort to promote inter-operability between the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Navy, 50 PNPA Cadets belonging to LAYAG-DIWA Class of 2024 visited the Philippine Navy Base in Sangley Point Cavite on June 17, 2023, as part of their ongoing Civil-Military Operations Seminar.
The activity was organized by the Philippine Navy Civil Military Operations Group and aimed to introduce the cadets to the facilities and training programs of the Navy. The cadets were given a tour of the base and were able to board the BRP Domingo Deluana (PG-905), an Acero-class patrol gunboat, to see firsthand the Navy’s capabilities and expertise.
The visit was also an opportunity for the cadets to appreciate the importance of inter-operability between law enforcement agencies and the military. “This visit is important because it promotes inter-operability between the police and the Philippine Navy. It also exposes our cadets to the capabilities of the Navy, and fosters camaraderie between our future police officers and sailors,” said PMGen Eric E. Noble, PNPA Superintendent.
MGen Noble emphasized the importance of the undertaking, highlighting the need for cooperation and collaboration between law enforcement and military agencies. “As future law enforcement officers, our cadets should be able to understand and appreciate the importance of inter-operability. We cannot function in isolation, and we need to work together with our military counterparts to ensure the safety and security of our country,” he added.
The visit was not only informative for the cadets, but it also strengthened the partnership between Philippine National Police Academy and the Philippine Navy. “The partnership between the PNP and the Philippine Navy is essential in our fight against crime, terrorism, and other security threats. This visit is just one of the many activities that we will undertake to strengthen that partnership and ensure a safer and more secure Philippines,” MGen Noble concluded.
The cadets were grateful for the opportunity to visit the base and board the patrol gunboat. “We learned a lot today, and we are grateful for the opportunity to see the capabilities of the Navy. This visit has given us a better understanding of the importance of inter-operability and how crucial it is in our future work as law enforcement officers,” said Cadet First Class Art Lorenz Legazpi.
The visit to the Philippine Navy Base in Sangley Point Cavite was undoubtedly a valuable experience for the PNPA cadets. This visit is a testament to the commitment of both the PNPA and the Philippine Navy to work together towards a safer and more secure Philippines.
