PNPA PRESS RELEASE CONTROL NO.: 2022-44
AUTHORITY: PBGEN ERIC E NOBLE, Director, PNPA
ACTION OFFICER: PLTCOL LOUIE DC GONZAGA, Chief, PIO
Silang, Cavite— The Honorable Amenah F. Pangandaman, Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management, made her presence as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Flag Raising Ceremony as part of the Distinguished Visitors’ Program on Monday, December 12, 2022, marking yet another milestone for the country’s premier police higher education institution.
Sec. Pangandaman was warmly welcomed by Director PBGen Eric E. Noble and was accorded Arrival Honors comprised of an all-female battalion sized contingent, a gesture that speaks loud and proud of women empowerment aimed at promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others, which the distinguished guest embodies throughout her many years in government service.
BGEN Noble expressed his gratitude and also took the opportunity to present to the very good secretary the current status of the different infrastructural projects as part of the PNPA Camp Master Development Plan to which the latter committed he full support. Speaking before the Cadet Corps and the attendees, Sec. Pangandaman gave the assurance that “the DBM is one with PNPA in the realization of its vision to be a world-class center of excellence in public safety education, producing professional and service-oriented public safety leaders who go above and beyond the call of duty.”
Sec. Pangandaman also had the opportunity to meet the cadets from where she traces her roots, the Islamic City of Marawi in the Province Of Lanao Del Sur. She is a graduate of the Far Eastern University and the University of the Philippines and is currently enrolled in The London School of Economics to complete her master’s degree in public administration, but has been on furlough while working as one of the nation’s economic managers.
Indeed, Sec. Pangandaman is one worthy of emulation by the youth. She has contributed so much to nation building and development in her previous designations most particularly in her stint with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Sec. Pangandaman further challenged the future officers to “always be champions of good governance and public trust, (so) that the people’s confidence in the bureaucracy may never waiver. (sic) This way, the government’s presence will be more felt by the very people it pledged to serve.” She recognizes PNPA’s role in honing service-oriented and transformational public safety leaders and heartfully told those who were present: “On behalf of the Filipino people, we thank you for your commitment to your respective mandates. Saludo po kami sa inyong lahat.” (PNPA-PIO)
