Silang, Cavite – One week after the assumption of PMGEN GILBERTO DC CRUZ as the PNPA Director, proactive response and measures against COVID-19 were immediately implemented to protect the Cadet Corps. A total of 6,500 face shields, 16,000 facemasks, 1,100 carry-on canister and alcohol were distributed to each cadet for easy disinfection and protection, compliant to the guidelines of the Department of Health (DOH).
Likewise, a total of 1,406 RT-PCR test samples were collected by the MRF MOA team from and among the cadets and personnel of the camp. The test is part of the Director’s initiative to assess the overall condition of the Academy. Five (5) isolation facilities with complete amenities, food and medical supplies were also immediately established. These facilities are currently being managed by the Health Service and are serving as seclusion rooms for 232 cadets and 11 personnel who were confirmed to have been contracted with the virus. Our health frontliners are now strictly monitoring these cadets and personnel on these recovery areas. As of writing, there is no recorded increase of Covid-19 case.

The cadets also received a total of 11,000 capsules of Vitamin C for their 14 days quarantine consumption, while 10,000 face masks and 1,000 face shields were donated by PATROL Party List. Also laboratory gowns, 15 thermal scanners, two-5lbs oxygen tanks, medicines were donated by other stakeholders.
